ChordFlow 1.2 is good for AB3 users

A nice update if you’re an AudioBus 3 user. ChordFlow becomes very useful indeed. Here’s what’s new:

AUDIOBUS 3 SUPPORT!!!

  • ChordFlow now provides four Audiobus 3 MIDI sender ports, one per track, and one consolidated port that transmits events from all 4 tracks.
  • You can now start and stop ChordFlow using Audiobus control panel buttons.
  • You can also use ChordFlow as a Audiobus Audio input in both Audiobus 3 and Audiobus 2.

OTHER CHANGES

  • Ableton link offset parameter range increased. Now it can be set to values from -500ms to 500ms
  • Sequencer performance tuning

DM2 – The Drum Machine also updated to v1.5

DM1 updated and DM2 as well. Here’s what’s new:

DM2 is now fully MIDI mappable. More than 130 parameters can be easily controlled by an external MIDI controller : go to the SONG page. First tap the “MIDI” button to select a MIDI controller as a Note Input source. Then tap the “MIDI LEARN” button. You can now navigate through the pages, select a Map (a blue rectangle) and play any Note or CC message on your external MIDI controller. Close the MIDI MAP screen and off you go. Please note that some Maps (for instance the OSCILLATOR PITCH) can either be in Absolute or in Relative mode. This latter is particularly useful when you are using a MIDI controller with encoders. For that just tap the “RELATIVE” or “ABSOLUTE” button when it appears on a MIDI MAP.

Enjoy,

The Audionomy Team

** NEW **

  • MIDI LEARN : more than 130 assignable MIDI parameters, with a “MIDI LEARN” mode (on the Song Page) for easy and fast Midi connections.
  • MIDI LEARN: one MIDI parameter can control multiple DM2 parameters.
  • MIDI LEARN : to clear a Midi-Learned DM2 parameter double-tap it in the Midi Learn page
  • AUDIOBUS 3 Compatible
  • IAA : reviewed & improved IAA sync with AUM, CUBASIS and GARAGEBAND.
  • DRUMS : a sound can now been saved and loaded separately as a USER sound. Tap “SOUNDS” on the DRUMS page, and open the LOAD popup.
  • DRUMS : simplified and unified SOUNDS popup

** AMENDMENTS **

  • MIDI : added midi channel description text
  • METRONOME : metronome volume is adjusted to the mixer Main volume
  • DRUMS : when playing, all steps (including empty) do now flash

** FIXES **

  • DRUM KITS+SONGS : fixed some loading issues
  • DRUM KITS : when modifying a loaded kit, the current kit gets the name of the song
  • MIDI : fixed bug when playing more than 2 sounds at the same time from a remote midi source
  • IAA : fixed bug when connecting and playing in the background DM2 in AUM | AUDIOBUS

Patterning : Drum Machine 1.3 brings Cloud Kits and more

Patterning is one of my favourite drum apps on the iPad and this lates version adds some really cool new stuff with Cloud Kits, Drum Kit Sharing for Patterning.

Download & share user-created samples with Cloud Kits. Browse a growing collection of free drum kits, searchable by artist, genre, and popularity. Listen to audio previews, upvote, and download kits directly in the app. Upload custom drum kits with your own artwork and share in Patterning and on Facebook or other social networks.

Also :

  • Built-in Dropbox Support! You can now browse Dropbox in the app, allowing importing of multiple audio files without leaving Patterning. Available from the “IMPORT” menu of the Sample Library.
  • When deleting a drum kit you can opt to delete samples at the same time.
  • Exported audio and Ableton Live Sets now correctly bounce loops with auto-rotate enabled and alternate playback modes.
  • Fixed logic for auto-rotation in alternate playback modes. You can revert to the old logic via the iOS Settings application.

Roli announces the Seaboard Block

20170509_Seaboard_Block_0492

Well this is a really interesting development for Roli. They’ve extended their Blocks range today with a new Seaboard Block and it’s very reasonably priced indeed at £279 / $299. That makes the Seaboard Block very accessible and reachable for musicians, and will make a good addition to anyone who’s already got a Lightpad Block.

What’s more they’ve updated their iOS app too as follows:

Introducing the Seaboard Block, Touch Block and My Studio!

  • You now tap on the instrument icon to switch to a Seaboard View and either play on-screen or connect a Seaboard Block
  • Configure what Block controls what track and extend your BLOCKS playing surface using My Studio. Also use it to manage your hardware, such as checking your BLOCKS hardware are up-to-date
  • Adjust the 5D settings for each connected Block by either attaching a Touch Block or in the advanced settings of My Studio

Other updates and fixes:

  • 6 new exciting soundpacks that showcase the expressive capabilities of the Seaboard Block
  • Updated onboarding screens, allowing you to skip and replay them at any time
  • Visual improvements throughout app

ScreenSynth 1.1 makes this app one of the few to use force touch

There are very few apps that actually do make use of force touch, which I’ve always wondered about. It always seemed like a kind of obvious thing to implement in my view. Anyway, ScreenSynth has done it in 1.1. Here’s all that’s new in this release:

  • Uses touch force to determine note velocity (instead of touch surface area).
  • All DX7 synthesizer algorithms are now faithfully implemented.
  • There are more default DX7 patches to choose from.
  • Touch latency is now even faster.
