Well you didn’t think you could use another looper right, well maybe you can … Today a new looper arrives on the app store, LooperSonic is here and looks pretty good.
Here’s everything you need to know about the app …
LooperSonic is a multitrack audio looper and recorder for iPhone and iPad. Use it like a loop pedal to make loops, and then arrange those loops into complete songs using cut, copy, trim, paste, reverse and undo/redo.
Record a loop by tapping the record button at the beginning and the end of the loop just as you would with a loop pedal. Or start the metronome and set your loop to count in for hands free looping. Change the loop points on the fly while recording new loops without stopping playback. You can also do straight recordings without looping.
Use cut, copy, trim, and paste to structure your loops and recordings into a song. Turn a loop into a backing track for a verse by duplicating a loop for a few bars. Merge tracks to make room for more recordings.
Undo and redo recordings and edits up to 100 times.
When you change the tempo, the pitch changes along with it, like a record player. Use this to make a guitar sound like a bass, or to sing out of your range. Along with the reverse feature you can make some pretty cool effects.
Get audio in and out using Inter-App audio, AudioBus, and/or audio copy/paste. Share individual clips or a whole song mix with ease. Audio can be copied from song to song. Or a selection of clips can be mixed down and shared without stopping playback.
Undo/Redo up to 100 times
Inter-App Audio support
Audio Copy/Paste from other apps
Change pitch and tempo like a record player
Track volume, and mute/solo
Join multiple clips (bounce)
Supports 4/4, 3/4, and 6/8 time signatures
Sharing is super easy
LooperSonic makes loops the same way a loop pedal does and just like a loop pedal, it requires precise timing to make a good loop. All sounds in LooperSonic are created by the user. For the best experience, make sure to wear headphones.
LooperSonic costs $4.99 (£3.99) on the app store now:

Another synth for you to try out on your iPad, Analog Synth X is free on the app store, don’t know about any IAPs as yet.
What’s interesting is that this has been made using AudioKit 3.0, and is on that site as an example of what you can do with the framework. I wonder if other developers will pick it up and see what they can do with it?
Anyway, here’s the app store description …
Matt Fecher’s analog synthesizer for iPad created entirely with the new AudioKit 3.0 framework.

Well at last we have another AU to add to the list (yeah, the list is coming soon I promise). So here’s all you need to know about NS1.
NS1 is a simple and intuitive virtual analog subtractive synthesizer. It works as an Audio Unit extension inside a host application such as GarageBand or MultitrackStudio. The clean interface consisting of knobs and XY pads lets you easily dial in and experiment with sounds.
Oscillator combinations consisting of triangle, square and sawtooth waveforms
Separate noise oscillator
Envelope modulates pitch, filter cutoff and square oscillator pulse width
LFO modulates pitch, filter cutoff and square oscillator pulse width
Blamsoft brings F-16 Filter for your iPad. Here’s all you need to know …
F-16 Filter is a flexible multi-mode filter with frequency response display. It features sixteen modes, frequency and resonance controls, saturation for analog-style soft clipping, and wet/dry mix. The 4 pole lowpass mode provides the frequency response of classic the Moog ladder filter. The other modes provide all of the choices available in the famous Oberheim Matrix 12 and Xpander synthesizers. At the heart of F-16 is a Zero Delay Feedback algorithm, the latest in DSP filtering technology. F-16 Filter gives you a wide variety of filtering options with pristine fidelity.
F-16 Filter is an Audio Unit Extension that works inside host apps. Just open up your favorite host that supports Audio Units and add it as an effect. Blamsoft brings their experience creating top notch plug-ins for the desktop to iOS. The same filter modes are found in the popular Rack Extension for Propellerhead Reason. You get a desktop quality plug-in at an iOS friendly price.
In addition to controlling the filter through the knobs and sliders, you can use the frequency response display to control cutoff frequency and resonance simultaneously.
So glad that this is out at long last! I’ve been playing with this for ages now and it is really great fun. Grab it now, it’s free (link to the app store at the bottom of this post).

After a very long time dormant The Strange Agency is back, and it’s great! They’ve brought us MegaCurtisBig! Here are the details …
Turn any recording into a synthesizer! Now with support for Audiobus and MIDI.
MegaCurtisBig uses an unusual hybrid of wavetable and granular synthesis to create tones and timbres quite apart from the standard FM or subtractive synthesis fare. Add this app to your arsenal to create sounds you simply cannot squeeze out of any other synth, no matter how much you’ve twiddled its knobs.
Create a synthesizer from any recording, with endless tweaking possibilities. Play the sound forward, backward, or even at a single point! Unlike scratching a record, pitch doesn’t depend on how quickly you move through the recording.
You can load sounds through iTunes, record directly with your iPad, or paste audio from other applications. Try it with speech, singing, synths, jackhammers, or birds. Mangle your recordings or create soft, gentle textures.
