Medly – Music Maker 3.4 arrives and is the last 32bit version of this app

Medly – Music Maker has gone from strength to strength and in version 3.4 brings a bunch of new stuff. But, as I said in the title it’s the last version that will be available for 32bit machines. Here’s what’s new:

New Instruments

Added 4 new (free) instruments:

  • Bright Synth, Womp Synth, Chicago Bass, Clanked Bass

Also added some instruments to existing packs!

  • Classical: Brass Stab, Kalimba, Music Box, Choir
  • Jazz: Muted Trumpet, Double Bass, Old School Keyboard, Rodes Keyboard
  • Rock: Modern Bass, Guitar Synth, Pluck Synth, Metal Kit

Lastly, redid a few instruments

  • Rock: all 6 electric guitars
  • Trance: Square, Saw, Harmony, Overdrive

Important Note

“This will be the last major update for 32-bit devices. The next major update, Medly 4.0, will no longer support: iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPad Mini 1, iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad 4.

Computing demands for audio processing have outpaced 32-bit devices. And as we continued to add new features, such as audio automation, pitch bending, and video export, we found that these devices couldn’t support them.”

AC Sabre 1.1 arrives

AC Sabre has a unique place in the mobile world. It’s an instrument, a really expressive instrument, so it was great to hear from Hari just yesterday that version 1.1 was on the way, and here it is!

  • Support for Audiobus 3 (coming soon)!
  • Automatic Bluetooth advertising (no more tedious steps enable it!)
  • Zero-tap, auto-connection to iPad via new upcoming “AC Central” app!
  • Audiobus state saving both locally and to iPad via AC Central
  • Hands free mode now works when AC Sabre is in background
  • A few bits of housecleaning…

You might remember that I mentioned Hari and the Sabre in my post about MMM2017. Just for good measure I thought I’d add a few pictures from the event, and of course you can check out the post too.
