I visited the Museum of Portable Sound and it was totally amazing, now you need to book a visit

This is something I’d wanted to do for a while, ever since I’d heard of the museum. If you’ve never heard of the Museum of Portable Sound then I’d urge you to check out their web site as it’s amazing, but in no way prepares you for the completely delightful experience of the museum itself.

I visited just a few days ago. I met John (Director and Chief Curator) on the South Bank at a coffee shop and we spent a considerable amount of time talking about sound and audio and found that we had a lot in common.

The experience of the museum itself was fantastic. I’m not sure that I can really express just how great this was. The museum is a totally individual experience. It is possible to make a visit in a group but I did it alone, and I’m glad I did. Having the time to just sit and listen is in itself a luxury for most of us, but to have the opportunity to carve out some time to listen to these rare and often very beautiful sounds is more than just a luxury.

I can’t express how much I enjoyed doing this. I’m going to do it again in the not too distant future, and I really hope that you get a chance to do it too. I can’t recommend it enough. Go to the site, book an appointment, experience it!
