MultitrackStudio for iPad updated to version 2.6

Here’s what’s new in version MultitrackStudio for iPad:

  • Supports AU effect/instrument presets.
  • Effect/instrument panes can now be moved anywhere rather than just near the top or at the bottom.
  • 12.9 inch iPad Pro: effect/instrument panes now appear close to containing slot rather than near the top or at the bottom.
  • Auto Wah effect. (requires Pro Extension)
  • Tempo Editor: “Conduct” (tap new tempo for selected part). You can tap an accelerando for example.
  • Tempo Editor: SEL menu features ‘Stretch’ and ‘Stretch Accelerando’ options. After picking one you can resize the righthand side of the selected part. The accelerando version creates a gradual tempo change. (requires Pro Extension)
  • ‘Add Click Track’: BPM value is no longer limited to whole numbers.
  • ‘Tap tempo’ boxes are more accurate.
  • Punch recording with External MIDI Instruments or Virtual MIDI apps: existing signal is now audible, just like it is with audio tracks.
  • Fixed: Matrix Sampler inadvertently removed imported samples from iTunes File Sharing folder.
  • Various bug fixes.

Video: KITTAR – Have fun with phrases | Yamaha

Good to see a new app from Yamaha. It’s been a while now. Here’s the app’s description:

Kittar is a music app that lets you enjoy playing music phrase by phrase. Choose a song saved on your iPhone,iPad and iPod touch and the app will automatically generate a “phrase list” based on the song’s structure. The app is perfect for having fun with performing a song partially, accompanied by the original song.

[Features of Kittar]

Automatic phrase list generation

Choose a song saved on your iPhone,iPad and iPod touch and Kittar will automatically generate a “phrase list” based on the song’s structure. You can edit the phrase list to your liking, or create phrases of your favorite parts yourself. The phrase lists will become more polished and improve in quality as you use the app.

Notice: Songs stored in iCloud, protected by digital rights management (DRM) and songs over 40 minutes long cannot be used with the app.

Favorite phrases

You can create your own unique phrase list by marking phrases as “favorites”. You can even register phrases from a variety of songs into a single list.

Rich playback functionality

Kittar was designed to be used while playing an instrument, and features a large full screen player view that is easy to use. It contains a multitude of functions helpful for playing music, including changing the tempo, transposing, repeating and count-in.

Notice: If your iPhone is set to “Silent”, no sound will be played even if you increase volume. If you cannot hear the music, please check your “Silent” mode switch.

Recommended for:

  • The song is long, so I want to practice it in shorter parts
  • I want to focus on the hard part
  • I only want to play the part I like

Don’t forget that SampleTank is still free

IK’s SampleTank (the full version) is free at the moment, but it won’t stay that way for long. It only has a limited time left, so grab it now if you don’t have it already.
