DM2 is a new synth drum machine and it looks amazing!

From the makers of DM1 comes the appropriately titled DM2. Here’s all the details:

DM2 is a Synthesis Drum Machine. It has been made by the core team that brought you DM1, one of the first Drum Machine for iPad, that won an Apple Design Award in 2012. Special 40% OFF price for the first week!

DM2 brings a new approach to Drum Synthesis with a powerful and easy to use graphic editor to create and manipulate sound. It it packed with ready-made factory Drum Kits. You can mix and match any sound from any drum kits to any track of your song. Play a song and load any drum kits (from factory kits or from any other songs) to listen to a completely new song every time.

As electronic musicians ourselves, we, at Audionomy, have developed DM2 with the intention of delivering the perfect mix between fun playability and powerful sonic capacities. We always keep in mind the importance of a beautiful design with the right balance of powerful abilities while avoiding clumsy interfaces.

DM2 offers 6 main sections:

1 – THE STEP SEQUENCER takes advantage of the iPad multi-touch screen for fast and creative patterns drawing. The Sequences handles 16 or 32 steps patterns and is polymetric (just gently tap and drag the blue handle at the right end of each track).

2 – THE DRUMS PAGE is a powerful graphic Audio Synthesis editor. Play, experiment and discover new sounds with the 6 graphs. Tap the little magnifying glass each title bar, it will expand the graph to a bigger size for extra precision.

3 – THE PADS PAGE simply lets you play and record any beat that tickles your fingers, with automatic quantize so that you don’t miss a beat. With a Beat Repeat effect for extra fun.

4 – THE MIXER PAGE for quick and subtle sound mixing of your drum kits. Large and spacey so that you can get the big picture. Pan and Solo included.

5 – THE FX SECTION offer a powerful Quad Pads Effect processors. Refine or super charge your sounds with this powerful Master effect chain.

6 – THE SONG PAGE allows you to quickly build a song with the patterns you have created. Just drag and drop the patterns onto the timeline. Each pattern in a song can be repeated for compact Song composition.

One more thing, DM2 is Ableton Link compatible.

ThumbJam 2.5 brings Link and so much more

This is just a huge update for ThumbJam, which was already amazing and is now better than ever!

New Features:

  • Added Ableton Link support, along with time stretchable loops, so tempo can be changed at any time now
  • Added new arpeggiator feature, with multiple patterns and options. Playable on screen or via MIDI input.
  • Support for Audiobus Remote triggers, and updated Audiobus SDK
  • Now optimized for iPhone 6/6+ and iPad Pro, with slide-over and split view support on recent iPads
  • Added 3D Touch support on iPhone 6S/6S+ options for velocity, volume, and filter cutoff controls
  • Added static MIDI CC input bindings for many controls (see users guide in app for details)
  • Added touch velocity UI control separate from volume, useful for velocity layered patches
  • Added max pan width control and added random pan control option
  • Relocated split popup button for iPhone
  • Can now send midi volume for x-axis volume mode
  • Make x-axis velocity use more of the space, no more half width. (Can revert to old way in options)
  • Added support for importing Scala or SXML files inside a ZIP archive
  • Now changing presets from the main menu will override any multi-splits (preventing confusion). Changing instruments within a specific split can still be done from the splits panel.
  • Added new reverb type (made it default), added additional higher quality choice for original reverb too.
  • Updated LPF filter implementation
  • Added custom background image option
  • Added option to toggle visibility of note grid

  • fixed monophonic note hang issue via midi
  • fixed issue when being controlled by Geo Synth
  • fixed V.Inv Tilt pitch bend not saved/restored in preset
  • fixed shake vib with multi splits/slots
fixed non vel-layered x-axis volume affecting velocity, but shouldn’t
  • fixed Use Key Pressure (Bend) option not displaying properly in midi options
  • improved/bugfixed accelerometer controls with multiple simultaneous instruments
  • fixed occasional mismatch between highlighted note and played one
  • fixed missing labels on some sliders in settings

  • loop bounce/mixdown from Mixer now respects the “render reverb on mixdown option”
  • fixed loop position issues when saving and loading and rewinding loops

New App: iConvolver – Impulse Response Reverb

iConvolver is an app for conveniently utilizing convolution reverb on an iOS device.

Convolution is an effect that adds sampled reverberative properties to a sound to recreate the original properties of that sound. The data of these reverberative properties are called the Impulse Response(IR), and can record the properties of not only acoustic space but also from such things as hardware and speakers. By recording the properties of reverberation from acoustic spaces such as halls and studios, high grade hardware reverb, spring reverb, speaker cabinets and microphones, etc. to Impulse Response files, they can be reproduced in iConvolver.

As iConvolver comes with several Impulse Response files included, you can immediately test out those sounds.

Main features

  • Equipped with an original convolution engine.
  • Actualization of zero latency.
  • Compatible with external Impulse Response files(WAV/AIFF formats(1ch,2ch,4ch)).
  • Open In is compatible with Zip files, and can extract Zip files as well. (Not compatible with password-protected Zip files)
  • Equipped with low pass and high pass filters for adjusting reverb sound.
  • Can be used in combination with other apps compatible with Audiobus and Inter-App Audio. Standalone operation also possible.
  • A universal app that can be used with both iPhone/iPad.
  • Comes with several original IR files(over 100) included.

Main uses
For recreating reverb, acoustic space, speaker cabinet sound, etc.

Regarding hardware compatibility
iConvolver by its nature requires a relatively heavy CPU load.
Devices with 64 bit CPU recommended.
iPhone 6 and above, iPad Air 2 and above are especially recommended.
By increasing the audio buffer size, and shortening the utilized IR, the memory load can be lessened.

iConvolver costs $3.99 (including launch 50% discount) on the app store now:
