Now that’s a really nice thing to do. A huge thank you to Steve for making this track. He says:
“A track to celebrate Ashley Elsdon’s 10th anniversary of his awesome blog palmsounds.net”
About “Song For Palm Sounds”, this track features arpeggios from my Ultranova blended with sounds from Shoom, Mersenne, Lorentz, and Laplace. Recorded in AUM, arranged in Auria, and finished in Mastering.
He goes on to say …
“Congratulations to Ashley Elsdon on the 10th anniversary of Palm Sounds. Ten years is a long time to be promoting mobile music and it amazing to to see how far mobile music production has come in the four years since I started my Frozen Lonesome project. One of the things that I like best about Ashley’s blog is his dedication to interests beyond apps to include communities of musicians, developers, and hardware. His commitment to community is exemplified by his wonderful Sound Lab project.”
Which is a lovely comment indeed. Thanks so much Steve!

Mainly because I was really interested to hear what people had thought about the site, about the journey in mobile music and about how it went along with their own journey.
It’s been great to get such a wide variety of response from so many different people. Initially I thought I might just get a handful of replies and then I’d maybe feature them on just one day, but already there’s too many for that, so I plan to put them out a few a day over the next few days, or longer depending how many more I get.
And if you wanted to comment or do something specifically for PalmSounds turning 10 years old, please do let me know. You can find out how to get in touch in the ‘About‘ page.

I always say that I don’t get enough opportunities to say “X app is on the bus” anymore, but I don’t! So it’s great to see a new app on the bus.
Today it’s STROM. Here’s what’s new:
- Strom can now be used as Audiobus Generator
- Support for Rytm OS 1.30
- Samples can now be transferred to your Rytm project/tracks/pads directly. Hold the Send button, then tap on a slice.
- Rytm performance control enhancements: You can now randomize trig properties such as note/velocity, microtiming, retrigs, and probabilities.
- bug fixes
