LooperSonic for iOS has arrived!

Well you didn’t think you could use another looper right, well maybe you can … Today a new looper arrives on the app store, LooperSonic is here and looks pretty good.

Here’s everything you need to know about the app …

LooperSonic is a multitrack audio looper and recorder for iPhone and iPad. Use it like a loop pedal to make loops, and then arrange those loops into complete songs using cut, copy, trim, paste, reverse and undo/redo.

Create

Record a loop by tapping the record button at the beginning and the end of the loop just as you would with a loop pedal. Or start the metronome and set your loop to count in for hands free looping. Change the loop points on the fly while recording new loops without stopping playback. You can also do straight recordings without looping.

Edit

Use cut, copy, trim, and paste to structure your loops and recordings into a song. Turn a loop into a backing track for a verse by duplicating a loop for a few bars. Merge tracks to make room for more recordings.

Undo and redo recordings and edits up to 100 times.

Play

When you change the tempo, the pitch changes along with it, like a record player. Use this to make a guitar sound like a bass, or to sing out of your range. Along with the reverse feature you can make some pretty cool effects.

Share

Get audio in and out using Inter-App audio, AudioBus, and/or audio copy/paste. Share individual clips or a whole song mix with ease. Audio can be copied from song to song. Or a selection of clips can be mixed down and shared without stopping playback.

Features:

  • Undo/Redo up to 100 times
  • AudioBus support
  • Inter-App Audio support
  • Audio Copy/Paste from other apps
  • Change pitch and tempo like a record player
  • 8 tracks
  • Copy
  • Paste
  • Delete
  • Trim
  • Reverse
  • Track volume, and mute/solo
  • Multi-select editing
  • Join multiple clips (bounce)
  • Supports 4/4, 3/4, and 6/8 time signatures
  • Metronome
  • Snappy interface
  • Sharing is super easy

LooperSonic makes loops the same way a loop pedal does and just like a loop pedal, it requires precise timing to make a good loop. All sounds in LooperSonic are created by the user. For the best experience, make sure to wear headphones.

LooperSonic costs $4.99 (£3.99) on the app store now:

AUFX range coming as Audio Units?

Well so it would seem. According to this tweet anyway …

Of course that would be excellent, but my guess is that there may be a little wait as Mr Liljedahl gets through all the other projects he’s got on the go at the moment.

Triggler (Sampler, Sequencer & Wave Synth) gets Link

Another app gets Link, this time it’s Triggler (Sampler, Sequencer & Wave Synth), that has incorporated Ableton’s Link technology. That’s all that is in this update of Triggler, but that’s enough, right?

And don’t forget to check out apps are supporting Ableton’s Link technology page for more apps that support Link.

I have to say that I’ve been really impressed with the level of activity that the team have put into updating modstep. This is the 3rd update since this app launched in late December last year. Here’s what’s in 1.0.2.5, and it’s more than I expected.

  • „All Inputs“ is the default for new Tracks
  • Added manual link

  • Enhancements for IAA loading, reloading and deleting

New Templates:

  • Roland A-01
  • Korg minilogue
  • Roland TR-8
  • Waldorf Streichfett
  • Meeblip anode
  • Meeblip anode LE

Updated with mappings for the Pads:

  • Korg Volca Sample
  • Korg Volca Beats

New Sample Kits:
Tonal Kits

Bugfixes

  • Pressing AudioShare without a sample or folder selected could crash
  • Sample Start/End and One Shot will be saved correctly
  • “New Kit Name“ was displayed when new Template was created
  • faders were gone when loading IAAs in Session View
  • a crash could happen when switching quickly between Scenes/Clips
  • fixed channel order when using studiomux
  • Autoload IAAs setting wouldn’t change status
  • external MIDI could create hanging notes
  • crackles when using studiomux could appear
