I saw this several weeks ago and was completely blown away by the concept and just how flexible it is. I think that this is going to be a completely amazing app for music makers and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

sound study: mobile instrument (experimental video)

I really enjoyed this. I think it’s a great concept. I might have to give this sort of thing a go myself at some point.

Sound study: the mobile instrument

Music improvisation while riding a bike with an iPad’s inbuilt mic to capture and filter sound.

Not very sophisticated – the bike’s got no gears, everything’s stuffed into a basket with a phone strapped to the front – but it’s a really immersive experience, a feeling of playing a mobile instrument.

Asus VivoTab Note 8 for the Digital Artist and Musician (video)

Whilst I’m not a massive fan of Windows devices for mobile (recent ones anyway), I was interested to see this and hear what Pierre has to say about the device.

The Asus VivoTab Note 8 is an affordable Windows 8 tablet with a Wacom digitizer screen. The VivoTab Note 8 is also a very nice musical sketchpad because it can run just about any Windows software within it’s 2 gigs of memory limitation. All in all, it’s a great tablet for creative work on the go.

It’s a bit of a poor man’s leap motion, although my recent experience with a leap motion hasn’t been wonderful to be honest. However, it is interesting.
