And what it is that they’ll mean for iOS based music making. Will they be like plug-ins? Will we have something more like a host / VSTi (or AU) arrangement?
Ideally I’d love to hear from some developers about what this might mean. Of course, I understand that there might be issues around giving opinions, at least it’s been that way in previous years anyway.
So, anyone want to comment or give wild opinions or guess?
Excellent! Now that’s a great step in the right direction. Well done! It sounds like they do listen to people.
Nice UI updates. Looks like a better user experience from the OS. All good stuff, but still nothing that’s saying anything about music making to me. My bet is that we won’t see what’s really under the hood for a long time and all the devs will have to keep quiet as they won’t be allowed to talk about what’s is iOS8.
Yeah, lots of numbers, but we really want to know what they’re going to do with iOS8 and what it’ll mean for music. Interesting that they say that they have 130m new customers. I wonder what percentage of those were for music making?
Bringing the mobile and the desktop closer together. That sounds like a very good idea for getting cross platform apps to do better things.
That sounds like it’ll make life a lot easier for everyone. I wonder how it’ll work for music apps. Time will tell I suppose.
So far it’s interesting but not earth shattering for me. I do think that the new OSX is pretty awesome, but I want mobile of course, and something that’s going to be a real game changer for music. Let’s see.
