Music App Blog: Phawuo iOS synth review – streamlined mono synth from Alexey Nadzharov

Synths on an iPad can, of course, be the Thor’s or Nave’s of the iOS music app world – huge monsters capable of absolutely fabulous sounds (the equal of many desktop software synths) but, for a newbie sound programmer, perhaps just a touch on the intimidating sound. Cloudsynth update offers IAA as a premium (IAP) feature

The latest version of Cloudsynth is Now a universal App, optimised for iPad and iPhone5. Here’s what’s new:

  • ‘Pro Mode’ (via in-app-purchase) offers:
    • Pad mode (play Cloudsynth multitimbral via drum pads)
    • Inter-App Audio (use Cloudsynth as a Node-plug in for your Inter App audio host. Requires at least an iPhone4S and iOS7)

Interesting to see how this goes down as Audiobus hasn’t been accepted widely was part of an IAP but of course IAA is free as opposed to Audiobus, so perhaps it’ll be more acceptable to users. What do you think?
