Apple sent out invitations to members of the press on Tuesday for an event to be held in San Francisco on Tuesday October 22.

The new iPads will be the first tablets designed specifically for iOS 7, which officially launched in September and is already available for download on previous iPad and iPad mini models
One of the biggest rumors surrounding the new 7.9-inch iPad mini is the introduction of a “retina” display, possibly matching the big-screen iPad’s pixel count of 2,048 x 1,536. However, this isn’t a shoe-in feature: some reports indicate supplies of such high-resolution displays are too limited, so retina might not come to the iPad mini until early 2014, according to Apple Insider.
