A very useful video overview of Rtrax on the iPhone.
I’m not sure that I’m going to get the chance to see this app for some considerable time to come.
A new MIDI controller for the iPhone:
MIDI Pad is a MIDI controller. It provides one X-Y Pad, one slider and four buttons. Moreover, it transfers your iPhone/iPod’s sensor signal (acceleration transducer and microphone) into MIDI signal. Whether you are an electronic music artist, a DJ using Ableton Live to mix or remix tracks, a VJ to lighten the club , or a more traditional musician using Logic Pro on stage or in the studio, you will find the MIDI Pad to the intuitive, convenient instrument that directly links your inspiration with your computer.
MIDI Pad using Apple Bonjour over WIFI network. So that you don’t need install any software or driver in your Mac to enable MIDI Pad.
NOTICE: MIDI Pad is only for MAC user! It won’t work on your Windows! MIDI Pad is a controller, not an instrument.
According to Synthtopia the initial run of OP-1 units has already sold out. That’s 500 units according to Synthtopia, but I had heard it was a bigger number. Either way, that’s a lot of units selling out very quick, which is great for the Teenagers. Let’s hope they make more and that maybe the price will come down with demand?
Anyway, from a mobile music point of view at the moment this isn’t really an issue as I’ve not seen any 3D music concepts as yet. However, I still think that it won’t take long before they arrive.
