SynthStation now shipping

DolphinMusic in the UK now have the Akai SynthStation as in stock! Musician’s Friend in the US also has the Akai SynthStation25 listed as in stock. And Music123 have the Akai SynthStation25in stock and ready to ship.

  1. They got it in Montreal too, about 105$, which is 30$ more than the LPK25 or LPD8, surprisingly affordable (well.. it has to be really affordable since it requires an iphone model not in production anymore).

  2. I ordered mine yesterday from and I got shipping confirmation about an hour ago. I should have one of these long coveted devices sometime next week.

I was really hoping to have one in time for the Mobile Art Conference in NYC this weekend but that's the way my luck tends to run! I'm always late to the party…

  3. i dont get why people would but this… (no offense)

iOS 4.2 is going to be released allowing us to connect any midi keyboard, so why but a spectial one to connect your ios device…?

  4. We don't know for sure about ios4.2 and midi over USB do we? We know core midi should be in it but I haven't seen anything official about using external devices. I hope we do though!

  5. Oh and unless you have a midi mobilizer (or apple allow the camera kit to work with the iPhone) how would you connect a midi keyboard to an iPhone?

  6. What appeals to me about this item is the fact that it is an all in one, cleanly designed solution to attach a keyboard to my iPod.

There are no cables hanging off it and the iPod/iPhone is held in place so you don't need a clip to keep the iPod/iPhone attached and available. Nice and clean!

  7. i thought that thats what COREMIDI support is going to be all about, connecting external devices…

i mean, what else would it bring to iDevices?…

  8. Well my Synthstation 25 arrived today and quite late at night to boot. It's true that it's much smaller than I expected.

I'm more disappointed in the fact that I had to buy the app separately. I thought that the price of the app was included in the cost of the keyboard but that wasn't to be.

Having said this, the synths sound great and there's a great number of drum kits available. I was able to put together a couple of quick patterns and save them for later.

I'm really hoping other music apps support this device as I'd love to be able to use it in conjunction with many other music creating apps.

  9. I just get an Akai Synthstation 25 and a Korg Kaossilator from eBay 🙂 I will be playing with them this weekend!
