TouchDJ has been updated to version 2.3. Here’s what’s new:

  • iPod Library access
  • Multitasking
  • 40% performance improvement on faster devices

Great to see that Touch DJ now has library import on the device now.

  1. have to say that the iTunes import isnt quite what i expected. compared to winmo and android dj apps. Import takes a long time and is actually an “import” instead of just loading from the library.

Not sure what else developers can do but i guess mixr has a lot to live up to.

  2. Sucks.

App is now ten times suckier than it was before. Loaded up 2 tracks, proceeded to mix, moments later… crash.

Restarted device (this is on a 3rd gen touch, iOS 4.0.2), loaded up 2 tracks, proceeded to mix, moments later… crash.

What a load of old skank.

I was really REALLY rooting for you guys to, you know, pull this previously brilliant app out of the fire as it were. This was to be the update that was going to reassert TDJ2 as the best DJ app out there.

What beggars belief is how or why the dev would want to unleash such a thoroughly compromised update onto the store – Toyo surely tested it on hardware that wasn't an iPhone 4 or an iPad, to confirm that it could run on 1 and 2 year old hardware. He must have known something like this was going to happen.
