I was going to call this post something like ‘stand up and be protected’, or ‘the case for iPad stands’, but they were just to silly so I didn’t!
Since I got my iPad I’ve been meaning to get a case for it or something to protect it in some way, but so far I haven’t got around to it at all. So I thought I’d share my short list with you and see if anyone has any other suggestions too.
My first choice is a very simple case which has the virtue of being really cheap too.

Next on my list is only slightly more expensive and in some ways not as nice to look at.

Next is a bit more, but also has a handy stand feature too which could happily replace my stand made out of the iPad’s packaging.

Believe it or not, the Apple case is in my opinion the beat one, it's pure form meeting function, and adds little regarding size and weight. Everyone I know that got the overblown fake-leather InCase one pictured at the end has regretted it. Why? It makes your slim and trim iPad about 4 times as big! Not good. 🙂

I like the first leather one.
My personal choices are the WaterField SleeveCase and the Twelve South BookArc stand.
I'd definitely go for the first.. it's simple (good) and the price is great!

@ robman84: If you want a high quality leather sleeve for your iPad, I recommend this one by Saddleback Leather. All of their stuff is very high quality.
$9 on Amazon. Nothing fancy, but padded, and worked out great! Good zipper. Plus has a pocket for the AC cord, accessories. Originally designed for palmtops, I think, but the fit is great. Details:
