Touch DJ: 7 Songs in 7 minutes

It looks really impressive, but then, what else would you expect from Amidio?

RJDJ on MTV Sticky

Good mentions of RJDJ here. Looks like they are starting to get some mainstream recognition for the work their doing.

Whatever happened to Theresa?

You might remember Theresa from a long time ago. I don’t think it has been updated for quite a while now. I did use this on my Axim once and it is a great little app for Windows Mobile.

I always feel a bit sad when a really good looking mobile music project gets discontinued.

Of course, if the developer is reading this and I am wrong about Theresa I’d love know.

Steel Guitar from Yonac is free?

Yonac’s Steel Guitar app appears to be free on the app store. I didn’t know that they were going to do that, but there you go. It is currently free.

New version of FastBasic for Palm

Even though I haven’t really got started with the previous version of FastBasic, here’s what’s in the latest one:

  • There is an icon for FastBasic. Until now the application didn’t have any icon.
  • You can create now “coloured” objects. See the attached example “CalculatorSimple.Bas”.
  • You can put REM lines between CONST lines. In this way it’s easier to comment a program with a lot of constants. See the same example.
  • MSGBOX and INPUTBOX$ take into account the size of the screen. For the moment, if you modify the size of the screen while the INPUTBOX window is open, that window is not affected. It will be done in next versions.
  • The GUI-function OBJTYPE take the ObjectIndex instead of the ObjectID. This is because some objects have an ID of -1: title, popup, etc. You can get the index number with the function OBJNDX.
  • The bug which resets the Palm after deleting a variable (or a constant) should be fixed. Please inform if somebody still have a reset.

I must get some time to mess about with this some more.

What’s coming to Bleep!Box

What’s coming to Bleep!Box:

The new update was submitted over the weekend. Many exciting new features are in this release. Among them:

  • Song Page – Allows you to easily switch patterns or sequence songs from multiple patterns.
  • Transfer – Connect to your iPhone with any internet capable computer over Wifi. Download or Upload patterns to the device.
  • Record – Record a .WAV file of your performances, patterns, songs, or sounds. Access them via the Transfer function.
  • UI Additions – A new ‘trigger’ button has been added to the Edit page. Preset browsing is easier and faster and sliders now have +/- buttons.
  • Overall volume boosted. You won’t have to crank your volume anymore.

With any luck this will materialize on your device within the next few days (App approval gods willing).

Also submitted this weekend was the ‘free’ version of bleep!BOX. It lets you do everything you can normally do except save, and it should be a great way for people to try bleep!BOX without having to plunk down the money. The free version will be known as ‘bleep!BOX Player’.

All great stuff and I can’t wait for the new version. I just wish Apple wouldn’t take so long to approve these!
