Hexatone update

I’m sure some of you got an email from Amidio about Noise.IO and “Good Night, States” Noise.io soundbank for their songs, and at their next show you can plug your iPhone or iPod into the house sound system and jam along with the group.

At the end of the email they say that Hexatone will be out in a week!

Excellent news.

Amazing news !!!!!

I just found this from Olivier at the Bhajis Garden forum:

A new project

Jul 15, 2009 13:17

Hi people!

I’ve recently started again spending long nights hacking on a music/audio/synthesis related project.

I can’t reveal anything for now because I have to deal with a lot of novel things, a lot to learn – so I have no idea if what I am doing will succeed or not. It’s crazy – I really have no clue what I am doing, but I am doing it anyway, and trying hard!

What I can tell is that if I succeed, this will be something I will be very proud of, something that some of you here will surely enjoy using, and a first step towards a new range of projects.

I can tell it’ll be free/open-source, and that contributions/modifications from individual users will be welcome.

Stay tuned 🙂

For those who don’t know, Olivier built Bhajis Loops which is still one of the best mobile music studios ever made, so I’m betting that whatever this new project is it will be amazing to say the least.

Making your own scenes

Having talked a lot about RJDJ lately I thought I’d post the link to their composer site where you can get everything you need to start making your own scenes.

Gamesalad thoughts

I posted on GameSalad the other day and the guys at GameSalad pointed me at some of the games that have been made by users on their beta software. Whilst there aren’t loads of music games there are a few. Most are quite simple and wouldn’t hit the majority of iPhone apps that are coming out now. However, once GameSalad really gets off the ground it could be an interesting way to get your own apps / applets off the ground and into an iPod Touch or iPhone.

If you’re interested and don’t know anything about programming then it is worth taking a look at.

This looks like fun but looks limited from the video on the site.

iSample for iPhone

iSample is a sample player for the iPhone. I think it was in a video that I posted a few days or a week ago and a number of people were asking what app it was.

I’m not sure if you can edit or pitch the samples once you’ve got them.

mStudio

Here’s a little app that’s just turned up today. A sample based studio app that can edit samples and then ‘remix’ tracks. Not entirely sure what this means and there’s no video on their site to show what it can do.

If anyone’s used this then please get in touch and let me know what it is like.

iPhone visualiser

This app was developed at the hack day. It downloads tracks from SoundCloud, analyses them using the echonest API and then plays them with a visualiser. Nice.
