This is a great little DIY Synth project that’s really well described at this blog.

iShred update to version 1.5

iShred has had an update. The latest version allows an export to .wav file !!!

Excellent news, this is probably (in my book), the only thing that was missing from iShred.

iShred is available at the app store click on the iTunes button below.

BassLine update

BassLine has been updated, Here’s what’s new in the latest version:

  • Added a gain slider for overdrive/distorsion effects
  • Added a tape delay effect unit
  • Added a button to lock sequencer controls
  • Added a mute button
  • Modified the behavior of the start/stop button: when an external clock source is used, tapping resets the sequencers playhead
  • Reduced playback buffer duration to 3 msec for iPod Touch 2G, 12 msec otherwise
  • Bug fixes, optimizations

iSyn: First Look

Ok, I’ve played with it for a bit now, and I have to say that I am impressed. I’ve found the work flow and the interface to be perfectly usable, and the sound quality to be excellent. No polyphony as yet, but I understand they’re working on it.

For £2.99 and a footprint of only 5.5mb this is an amazing little app. Sound wise it makes me think of Griff, although it is nowhere near as complex, but I can imagine it growing, and I hope it does. The synthesis is very straightforward, and they’ve made the control options work intuitively.

Overall, I like this app alot, I think it points to where this platform can go in terms of music.
