Next RJDJ spring set for Berlin

RJDJ have announced the location of their next sprint. A ‘sprint’ in RJDJ terms is something that brings together musicians and artists interested in working on reactive, algorithmic music (”Scenes”) for mobile devices and do other mad things with sound. Their site says:

The goal is to create, test and enjoy many new scenes for the RjDj application. We know that many musisicans don’t have iPhones, so we will provide some devices for development during the sprint. Prior sprints happened in Bizau,
Barcelona and Vienna.

If you’re interested go to the RJDJ site to register.

My take on this is that I hope they come out with another RJDJ ‘album’ and finally get support for at least the 2G Touch. We’ll wait and see.

Scale mapping coming back to Noise IO?

Some calm returning to the Leisuresonic / Amidio issue:

Negotiations are going better than anticipated. It looks like Leisuresonic and Amidio have come to an agreement. The accelerometer scale mapping features should be returning to Noise.io Pro soon.

I really hope that these guys can sort out their differences.

Brighthand on two new Redfly models

Brighthand has a post about two new Redfly models, one of which includes a multimedia port:

The major change in the second model announced today, the Redfly C8N, is a new multimedia port that allows an iPod, iPhone , Zune, or digital camera to use the Smartphone Terminal’s 8-inch screen to display video or images. Aside from this, it is essentially unchanged from the original model, which it will replace.

It sounds interesting, but I’m not sure that just being able to connect for video and images is enough. Maybe if you could use the keyboard too, then that would make it worth buying to use with an iPod Touch.
